Folly Lane

Easy, if a little undulating: 13.5km, less than 1 hour

Even if you are a proper full on regular cyclist, this is a nice route to get out an enjoy. Why not pop out to North Crawley on a summers evening, call in at the pub or just enjoy the view over towards Milton Keynes.

The Route: Follow Crawley Rd, into North Crawley and watch for the left turn into the lane. After a quick up and down the scenery opens up in front of you but a quick glance behind gives a nice view of the church across the fields.

Approaching the farm marvel at the growing metropolis of Milton Keynes on the horizon, before a twisting and fun dip leads to a gentle climb.

The route includes a second coast down to the junction with the Cranfield-Moulsoe road. Turn left at the bottom and continue past the roundabout with the airfield on your left.

To continue with a rural vibe loop around Lodge road and then Court road to rejoin the High street just after the church. Oso’s Cafe provides a possible finish line.

Pros: Lost lanes right on the doorstep.

Cons: It does go up and down, rather than turning right when approaching the university, head straight on a slightly shorter course which is then flat back to the village.

In reverse: yes just as nice in both directions.
