Intro ride

Friendly, 7km, no rush

Welcome to Cranfield, it’s a cycling hub, despite limited cycling infrastructure, the ever expanding housing estates, Cranfield is a great place to live if you enjoy riding, like spending time outdoors, choose not to drive.

Doesn’t matter what bike you have, most of these rides can be ridden, all year around, on a bike you already have.

Sitting between Bedford and Milton Keynes, it’s possible to ride in every direction, often in a loop, often without encountering roads that are too busy, without obstacles that spoil the flow.

The route: Taking advantage of the two university cycle paths the ride is a loop that connects the university with the village centre. Start anywhere, head clockwise or anticlockwise, visit a shop, enjoy a coffee (or a beer).

For views over Marston Vale, follow Lodge and Court Road, for the Co-op continue down the high street. Use the bridleway behind the schools if you want maximum car free.

Pros: An easy family friendly ride for everyone to enjoy.

Cons: Sadly the new cycle path expires just before/beyond the football club.
